Registry Stuff The last couple of NewsLetters have covered backing up and restoring the Registry in Windows 95, 98 and ME. If you have missed these issues, please read them before attempting any of the exercises in this month's NewsLetter. They can be found at: BACKING UP (August) RESTORING (September) Even if you don't plan on doing any hacking or manipulation of the Registry, it's still important to back it up. It's just as important to check those backups and make sure they work properly. The only way to do that, is to try it out. This month, we're going to be looking at the Registry and using the Registry Editor. We'll discuss some of the terms used in the editor, and take a look at the different keys and what they contain. We'll look at changing different values, manipulating data, and how to search the Registry for that particular data or value. Home
